there’re empty walls in this room old stains scattered on the floor there’s forget-me-not in the garden I’d put them there to remind you - I’m never further away than a thought In here I abandoned my dreams I feel hollow even in my sleep I’ll follow, I’ll follow your lead blinded by thoughts drag me through the smog of moral vanity I think it’s time we both leave I’ll bend like the trees, I’ll cross the sea to reach you thunder and rain, I can’t complain when I’m with you ‘cause I only feel real when I’m with you I only feel real when I’m with you I only feel real when I’m with you I only feel real when I’m with you

so your kindness has faded you don’t look like yourself ‘trying everything to hurt me and it hurts like hell your father, he worships you ‘cause you make daddy so proud ‘yelled at me in the airport while I was stuck in the crowd just close your eyes it will be alright just stay a fool nothing changes with you so your kindness has faded you don’t look like yourself you used my agony against me well, I wasn’t placed on earth to please men your father he worships you I couldn’t play it that well I excused your lack of empathy till there was nothing left of me just close your eyes it will be alright just stay a fool nothing changes with you

Taxi Driver 04:03
you can be my taxi driver sharing my load touching my thigh with your free hand your eyes on the road pretty wasted but I know my way around here constantly aching and I’m tired of playing tough I had a pretty mean portion of love I had enough (mmm...) you can take me anytime just don’t expect me to enjoy it while you’re soaked in sweat thrusting into my flesh this body was never mine pretty wasted but I had my share of fun here constantly aching and I’m tired of giving fucks I had a pretty mean portion of drugs burned out and lost did you come to save me? you know your ways constantly aching and I’m tired of playing tough I had a pretty mean portion of love I had enough I had enough

Periphery 02:45
(ah fuck) what’s your excuse? you count the tiles in the bathroom, but baby tell me something I didn’t know you had a nervous breakdown you’re wearing worn out shoes rich kids walking down the avenue but careful, soon they’ll catch up with you you wish you had it all in the periphery pretty pics in the dark and it comes right at you comes right at you comes right at you you had a messed up childhood (you had a messed up childhood) an even worse youth (what’s your excuse?) you drill your nails in your skin too, but baby (don’t you, don’t you) don’t you see it comes back to you you wish you had it all in the periphery (throughout your) pretty pics in the dark and it comes right at you you wish you had it all in the periphery (throughout your) pretty pics in the dark and it comes right at you comes right at you comes right at you comes right at you comes right at you

you don’t fear my thoughts I can’t fake them anyway you said, and I got lost in your eyes and I, have laid all exposed on your bed while bleeding you have seen everything love became a trial as we fought in the kitchen I swear, I never meant no harm we were all entwined as you kissed my open thighs you swore, you’ll never do me harm and I, have laid all exposed on your bed while bleeding you have seen everything love thrives in our blood travels through the tickling vein for you some is never enough I left stains on your sheets as you unveiled my mysteries and took the rest of me (Instrumental Part)
6.
Untitled 02:25
you were sparkling as the sun colored your eyes I feel stiff in my own skin ‘cause I still hate my body I’ve never said this before I think I need you to touch it so I won’t hurt anymore ‘cause I still hate my body I’ve never said this before I think I need you to touch it so I won’t hurt anymore and following your footsteps never brought me closer to you I too, dream of the woman I could never be I dream of the woman I could never be
7.
Reptile 04:14
I didn’t even ask my mother how her days have been she’s been through real struggle witnessing me so broken and thin but you you didn’t win you lost again and I fight tooth and claw ‘cause I hope that I’ll love again I hope that I’ll love again soon ‘cause I’m like a reptile in the sand longing for the sun to warm up my lungs I’m like a reptile in the sand losing my tail to divert from the pain make it through the evening trying to stay sane I’m like a reptile in the... summer days, and yet another fall ‘thought if I dropped my eggs I’ll lose it all lovers, longing to be bound ‘thought I was born to kiss the ground but you you crulest thing you pulled that string but I repel the shell ‘cause I, I hope that I’ll love again I hope that I’ll love again soon ‘cause I’m like a reptile in the sand longing for the sun to warm up my lungs I’m like a reptile in the sand losing my tail to divert from the pain make it through the evening trying to stay sane I’m like a reptile in the sand
8.
what if heaven’s just a hole in the sky a numb contact with infinite time I don’t mind the empty days and wasted youth as long as I’m with you ‘cause I belong in your arms another “baby” slips through your lips such a fury sound making them split in the moonlight soon enough it’ll be spring the rosehips flowering and I’m an old dog growing soft escape the cold grasp the heat lose your hold burn your weed the sight of endless beaches the scent of countless peaches and she’s mine she is mine what if heaven’s just a state of mind a calm abyss when life is unkind I don’t mind the empty days and wasted youth as long as I’m with you ‘cause I belong in your arms escape the cold grasp the heat lose your hold burn your weed the sight of endless beaches the scent of countless peaches and she’s mine she is mine she’s mine she is mine
9.
we won’t go to Abisko anytime soon thought about our time in motel rooms you drew, the city view in my notebook babe, I think of you too isn’t it enough to know about your love? isn’t it enough to feel it all at once? I guess I expected too much of life but I refuse to just be passing time we won’t cruise around in your van to see the coast of France thought about those nostalgia days oh it strikes me all this time we barely made it though babe, I think of you new isn’t it enough to know about your love? isn’t it enough to feel it all at once? I guess I expected too much of life but I refuse to just be passing time I guess I expected too much of life but I refuse to just be passing time
10.
Uncertainty 04:19
I’ve made my peace with uncertainty it doesn't mean I live aimlessly sertraline and your serenity had me thinking we had the remedy ‘cause you and I know at the end of day we could never win, but hope is a discipline I just wanted you to really see me the love we share is the essence of being embodied but you got away from all of this, didn’t you? left me here hanging by myself you said one day the death will come to your rescue I wonder if you still feel the same like I do I saw you you seemed renewed said you quit the pills and was running off the mill my long lost friend stuck at the dead end spilling your crucial thoughts that you ignored but you and I know at the end of day we could never win, but hope is a discipline I just wanted you to really see me the love we share is the essence of being embodied but you got away from all of this, didn’t you? left me here hanging by myself you said one day the death will come to your rescue I wonder if you still feel the same like I do

about

Marí - Making Peace With Uncertainty
(released by Celebration Records November 3rd)

Marí’s debut album 'Making Peace With Uncertainty' is an album without compromise, landmark relationships, and defining life experiences that embraces the 20’s. The album reflects different human aspects and experiences — from the struggle for fluctuating self-esteem to the power of friendships and the challenging journey from depression to self-acceptance.

Making Peace With Uncertainty is Mari’s debut album, and with this, she establishes herself as a new and remarkable artist from the Danish indie scene, with significant international potential. The album was released via Celebration Records and was recorded in Sundlaugin studio in Iceland — Sigur Ros' studio — together with musicians from both Denmark and Iceland and recorded and mixed by Albert Finnbogason (JDFR, Soley, Joan Shelley, etc.). The album also contains a feature with singer and songwriter Hjalte Ross on the song "Abisko". On top of everything, Marí has announced a number of Danish concerts in Denmark and a number of international festival showcases.

“I had the privilege and unique opportunity to do exactly what I wanted to do in the studio. As a result, every instrument, every detail, noise, beat, and tone is something I wanted. I have worked with these amazing musicians who not only have the skills to ample my ideas, but also the understanding, sensitivity, and creativity that made this album possible. We have explored the potential of each song together. The result is a manifestation of all that, I have been through the last 10 years, both musically and in terms of life, Marí explains about the work on the album and the recording of Making Peace With Uncertainty.

The album exudes a Nordic melancholy and has a strong and embracing expression by virtue of its completed organic instrumentation that simultaneously supports the rawness and the uncompromising honesty that Marí works on the songs. Making Peace With Uncertainty is an album that navigates the universe of classic singer-songwriter traditions with its acoustic elements, while at the same time mixing with airy and jazzy elements and melodies. The result is a stunning sound of light shadows as the music merges between the dark and the light. Songs like "Uncertainty", "Reptile" and "Abisko" contain these playful and bright elements with clarinet and saxophone, and not least "Endless Beaches", which includes its uplifting melody and hopeful progress are emphasized with string instruments and the piano. Marí — whose music draws appreciative threads to artists such as Tom Waits, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, and Big Thief — also shines on the album with a masterful voice to embrace the vulnerable and subtle, but at the same time display a strength and primal power which supports the deep and human emotions and experiences that the album portrays.

Making Peace With Uncertainty explores the feeling of being an outsider and the struggle with self-esteem in a world characterized by social expectations, and delves into the complexities of human relationships, including toxic relationships and the pain of saying goodbye, and mediates the feelings of discovering what went wrong once you are out of the relationship. The album also celebrates the joy of friendships and the encouraging strength they bring. They remind us how these relationships can bring light into our lives, even after dark times. The album is a tribute to transformation, self-acceptance, and the understanding that life does not always go as planned, but acceptance and growth can lead to brighter days.

“We are ever-changing, chaotic, and complicated, while we search for the most banal and simple things like meaning, acceptance, recognition, inner peace, and love naturally. We appreciate the imperfect because we can relate to it. I want people to reflect on that as they listen to the album or see Marí live because I think it will contribute to a deeper understanding of each other", concludes Marí.
